he Tipton Rotary Club and Tipton High School Interact Club will be hosting a Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Community Bed Build on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the Mosier Seed Building, 462 Highway 38, Stanwood. This event will build the components of the beds(head and foot boards, side rails, etc.) that are delivered and set up for children who do not have a bed of their own to sleep in throughout Cedar County. The build will start at 1:00pm. The first shift will be 1-2:30pm and the 2nd shift will be 2:30-4pm. There are no age or carpentry skill requirements for volunteers and all tools are provided. SHP volunteers have delivered and set up over 60 beds in Cedar County over the past year. Each twin sized bed is delivered with a wooden frame, mattress, bedding, pillow and blanket. If you are unable to work that day, but would like to have an impact, SHP can always use donations of twin size bedding (top sheet, fitted sheet and pillowcase), twin size comforters or blankets and standard size pillows. For safety and health reasons all bedding must be new.
