We are thankful for the amazing volunteers in our community and want to give you and a few of your friends/family a chance to help fix homes this weekend before Thanksgiving!
Join Matthew 25 and help do the repairs needed on many Derecho impacted homes. This Saturday we will lead groups of 3-6 individuals on various projects throughout Cedar Rapids to help make these homes winter-ready. You will be some of the first volunteers to help Providing Assistance to Community Homeowners (PATCH) and homeowners have a safe and livable home.
Projects range in skill level, from siding and skirting on mobile homes to tarping and patchwork on roofs. We will provide materials, tools and support. Volunteers need to have amateur construction and/or basic home repair experience. Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced.
Activities May Include
- operating power tools
- climbing on ladders
- walking on roofs
- standing for periods of time
- ability to carry 25 lbs.
Items to Bring if You Would Like
- Impact Driver
- Ladder
- Hammer
- Tape Measure
- Work Gloves
- Additional tools at your discretion
Dress for the weather (layers may be good), closed-toed shoes, etc.
