Sat. 8/15; Day of Action - Organized Deployment for Clean-up

There is a Day of Action scheduled for Saturday, August 15, starting at 10 AM in Cedar Rapids dedicated to the cleanup and restoration of those areas hardest hit by the Derecho on Monday.  We will be meeting at the Harris Building at 1020 6th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. No need to pre-register or wait for a confirmation. Please just be at Harris by 10 AM.

If you can help with the hard, physical work of clearing trees and helping to help clean up from the devastation of the storm, make sure you wear work clothes, closed-toed shoes, safety glasses and gloves if possible.  We could also use chainsaws, ladders, rakes, and other tools that you think might be helpful.

If you don't think you can handle the physical labor, people will be needed for transportation purposes, running errands, such as getting gas, water, ice and other odds and ends, assisting with logistics and getting people where they can do the most good.
