Description

Volunteer Mentors and Coaches Needed for FIRST® LEGO® League Jr (ages 6-10) and FIRST® LEGO® League (ages 9-14).  Multiple teams now forming in the CR/IC Corridor.  Non-Technical (no robotics/engineering experience necessary) and Technical Roles Available, starting immediately:

FIRST® LEGO® League is the most accessible, guided, global robotics competition, helping students and teachers to build a better future together. The program is built around theme-based Challenges to engage children ages 9 to 16* in research, problem solving, coding, and engineering. The foundation of the program is the FIRST® Core Values, which emphasize teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce.

Mentors and Coaches are individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines who work with students to share their knowledge and guide them through the season. Many Mentors and Coaches contribute on a twice weekly basis during the program season, or support the team with subject matter expertise, on an as needed basis. Teams may have additional or more specialized roles or combine roles as needed. In addition, Mentors help students to embrace FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. and FIRST® LEGO® League Core Values.  More information on FIRST® Programs at www.firstinspires.org
