His Hands maintains a sample room from which we dispense medication to the patients we see at the clinic and those who cannot afford a traditional pharmacy We need pharmacists to help us! Volunteer pharmacists assist the medical providers in locating and prescribing medications, count out pills, give patients any drug-specific information, and oversee the pharmacy during their volunteering times Clinics can be fast-paced, energetic, and are always interesting Every day is different! Duties include: Count and label medications under the direction of a provider, check medication expiration date and dispose of medications according to instructions | Volunteers must have an unrestricted Iowa license, professional malpractice insurance or become a participant in the Volunteer Health Care Provider Program through the Iowa Department of Public Health
