The Eastern Iowa Diaper Bank, a partnership between YPN and Eastern Iowa Health Center (EIHC), provides diapers to babies whose families may struggle to afford them. Did you know 1 in 3 American families face diaper insecurity? With your help, we can change that!

We’re looking for friendly, dedicated volunteers to support our WeCare Shop Diaper Bank. You’ll:

Greet and assist families at the diaper drive thru Help participants meet their diaper needs Restock diapers and keep the space organized

Shifts Available:

Monday, 1:00 – 3:00 PM Monday, 3:00 – 5:30 PM

Long-Term Impact: We’re seeking volunteers who can commit for at least 6 months—a perfect way to make a lasting difference in the lives of babies and families. Commitment required: We are seeking someone who can serve on a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule. Unfortunately, this position is not available for one-time or occasional volunteering.

Through YPN's prenatal and parenting programs, community members have the chance to make a real difference by donating to our WeCare Shop, a special retail space where participants can “shop” for essentials using points they earn for making healthy choices. Donations can include baby clothing, furniture, personal care items, books, strollers, diapers, and more—all items that help our families thrive.

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic volunteer to join us in supporting our families at the WeCare Shop. In this role, you’ll:

Assist participants with shopping and navigating the store Help keep the shop organized and well-stocked Manage laundry for clothing items Perform basic data entry tasks (easy to learn, very simple) Support other day-to-day tasks as needed

This is a recurring volunteer opportunity, available:

Tuesdays: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesdays: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Commitment required: This volunteer position requires a commitment of 2 hours each week. We are seeking someone who can serve on a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule. Unfortunately, this position is not available for one-time or occasional volunteering.

All volunteers are required to complete paperwork, an interview, and a background check before starting.

Do you have a big heart and a vivid imagination? Love spending time with kids and helping them explore the world? YPN is looking for volunteers to be the sidekick to a young child!

We host prenatal and parenting group meetings on Thursday evenings from 5:30–7:30 PM, year-round, with on-site childcare for children ages 0–5. This role is flexible, perfect for anyone looking to make a meaningful impact in a way that fits their schedule.

We especially welcome bilingual volunteers, as YPN serves Hispanic, African, and Afghan families who may speak limited or no English.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Engage and support children in a safe, nurturing environment Practice hand hygiene at all entrances/exits and between sessions

Requirements:

Volunteers must complete an application, interview, and background check Must be 15 years or older to volunteer independently
