By having volunteers pick up lab specimens we allow staff to focus on clinical duties and impact the speed upon which our patients and their physicians receive test results. They pick up lab specimens from designated locations throughout the Hospital once each hour during a 4 to 5-hour shift and deliver them hourly to the Main Lab.  Floral and Gift Shop

Description: The gift shop is the “Happy Place” in the hospital where patients, families and employees go to grab a snack, shop for unique items, and get a well-deserved break from their stressful day. Our volunteers provide assistance with the customers’ shopping experience by operating the cash register, pricing new inventory, answering the phone, filling in stock and straightening racks.

Volunteers in the Floral Shop may assist with taking orders, delivering flowers, or helping to create floral arrangements! Qualifications: Volunteers in this assignment must:
1. Be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time.
2. Be an extroverted, mature, cooperative, positive service-oriented individual with effective communication skills and positive body language.
3. Dependable
4. Able to lift up to 10 lbs. Disclaimer:

Disclaimer: Our volunteer assignments are on-going, we ask that our volunteers commit to volunteering once a week (2-4 hours) for at least 6 months to ensure a positive impact to our hospital. The volunteer shifts listed are all of the possible shifts for the assignment, please check with Volunteer Services for more information.

NOTICE: Due to COVID-19 we ask that you are able to wear the appropriate PPE and follow proper sanitation guidelines to ensure that we keep our patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers safe. More information will be provided in your specific assignment on what this will entail.
