On Saturday, August 23, join Brucemore's Garden Intern Megan Robinson for a morning of learning and volunteering in the Cutting Garden!
Volunteers will start the morning with free coffee and breakfast snacks while Megan chats with participants about transitioning gardens and flowers beds from their summer splendor to fall plantings. She will share helpful information about planting bulbs for next year, the best time of year to seed your lawn, and recommend some of her favorite flowers to plant in the fall. After that, volunteers can roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty weeding and working in the Cutting Garden to help us get ready for our fall pumpkin harvest!
You don’t need a green thumb to participate in this volunteer opportunity at Brucemore! All instruction and gardening equipment needed for this activity will be provided. We recommend this volunteer opportunity for ages 10 and up. Volunteers who participate in this activity should be able to walk across uneven terrain and engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting for periods of time. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes during this activity.
