Become a part of the safe driving solution in your community! Join more than 5,000 AARP Driver Safety volunteers nationwide teaching and organizing the award-winning AARP Smart Driver classroom course curriculum. As a volunteer, you will:

Organize and teach classroom courses in your area at locations such as community centers, hospitals and libraries Get all the training and tools you need to make your volunteer experience the best it can be.Be part of a local Driver Safety community of dedicated volunteers.Have fun and feel good knowing you’re making a difference in your community.

Are you a natural storyteller with a passion for empowering Iowans? AARP Iowa is seeking dynamic, community-minded individuals to join our Speakers Bureau. As a volunteer speaker, you will serve as the "voice" of AARP in your community, delivering presentations on vital topics such as fraud prevention, Social Security, caregiving, and livable communities. You will help us reach members and the public where they live, work, and play, providing them with the information they need to choose how they live as they age.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Presentations: Conduct in-person or virtual presentations to community groups, civic organizations, and local clubs using AARP-provided materials.Stay Informed: Participate in briefings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on AARP’s core initiatives and legislative priorities in Iowa.Engage the Public: Facilitate Q&A sessions following presentations to gather feedback and connect Iowans with AARP resources.Represent the Brand: Maintain a professional and non-partisan demeanor while representing AARP Iowa at community events.Reporting: Briefly report attendance numbers and community feedback to the AARP Iowa staff lead following each engagement.
