Friends of Palisades-Kepler State Park

The Friends of Palisades-Kepler State Park partners and collaborates with Iowa DNR for the preservation and development of natural and cultural resources and landscapes for the enjoyment, health, education, and recreational opportunities of all park patrons.

The Friends support the local park and park ranger via fund raising , arranging volunteers to help complete projects, and offering educational opportunities for park patrons. We sponsor a First Day Hike January 1 of each year to encourage people to get out and hang out. Our annual Pals for the Park 5k is our main fund raiser to cover costs beyond the park budget.
